Sector7g Site Launch

Posted

It’s our birthday, and we’ll launch a new website if we want to.

sector7g is 17 years old today, so we’ve launched our new site with work spanning the entire history of the studio, along with Not Lost — a new sister site of design essays — ready for your weekend browsing.

Between Red & Toe

Posted

My wife, Toe, and I have launched a new photo blog to catalogue her various adventures with her K1000 film SLR (and the odd iPhone snapshot to boot).

Big images, little text, and a massive overprinted S are the order of the day.

The Cold Embrace

Posted

Steering By Stars’ second album The Cold Embrace is now out, complete with cover art by myself and featuring photography by Hailey Lane. The artwork is all about the creation and release of tension and the cold/warm dichotomy of a cold embrace.

You can stream the full album on their website, but make sure you grab your own copy to keep.

Australian Design Biennale 2012

Posted

Over the weekend, the Australian Graphic Design Association held their biennial awards at The Forum in Melbourne.

Deciding to go at the last minute, I ended up flying in the afternoon and out first thing the next morning, going straight from the awards party to the airport and dispensing with such luxuries as accommodation.

But it was all worth it. sector7g picked up a six awards, including our work with Ride, Shorts and Asthma Australia among others. In addition, I picked up a personal award for Toe and my concrete wedding invites, which I especially appreciated.
